Rummaging for answers in the pages

This week has disappeared so quickly.
I have been playing on photoshop, and working on my website.. which is much better than before. But still lame, in my opinion.

I just can't wait to have some better photos. So today I've really been reading up on the technical side of things and trying to learn how to make the most of my camera.

I also almost signed up for a 3 day photoshop course, but decided to think about it over the weekend, in case I decide to take a photography course first.

And just so it's not too boring.. Here is Edward Sans (aka Earl) I was the paparazzi at a Sherpa gig. Keep in mind, this was before I learnt what I learnt today.







I have some more of this night, and the band actually playing, that will eventually be somewhere. I'm just deciding if I need a website exclusively for social/personal/hobby pics. I just have so many photos, I don't know what to do with them all. And none of them are good enough for my acutal site.

Beautiful and dirty rich

Phew, so I took some great photos today of Brooke! The theme was 'Coats & Legs'. It was pretty intense, but we did it with just 2 of us. The make up was done by Brooke herself. I chose the outfits and styled the hair.

It was really hard to choose just a few favs. I have a short list to photoshop. I'm looking at altering the weather and stuff to suit the photos, and other things like brightening her skin and ruining her surroundings to be really rugged in some.

So here are the ones I love of my sis. PS thanks!

It's so magical

Firstly I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend Kylie. She is 22 today!
I'll dedicate a post to her soon, but first, my fav pictures off my new Nikon.

It's Kylie's 22nd party tomorrow night and her actual birthday on Sunday. Hopefully my first big night out with the camera is a success.

This is a photo of us today at work. It was 'Wearable Arts' theme, so we printed famous artworks and make them in to outfits (including head piece). I think I liked our concept the best.

Oh babe, I would die for you

Bro! I am getting a camera! I knew it was mine from the moment I saw it. I had researched the kind of camera I wanted, and decided on the Nikon D90. I then proceeded to pricespy and trademe etc. THEN I sorted the $$$ and found this gorgeous camera for cheap, with a free bag and memory and it's a kit with a lens! These are photos of the ACTUAL camera taken by the seller.





I am going to pick it up on Saturday, and my first challenge is to take photos at Kylie's birthday that night! I am going to use as practise for getting used to my camera. This is the most excited I have been since I bought that pink car when I was 16.

I just got home and have had a shower after Easter Camp. I got to take heaps of photos of Justin performing.. I even ran to the car mid-performance to get a charger! It was really fun and I am so looking forward to my new camera even MORE.

Listening to Queen & Queens of the Stone Age .. That always happens because when you search 'Queen', there's nothing to stop it finding 'Queens of the Stone Age' as well. So I just listen to it on shuff.

I'm trying to go to bed on time tonight, I want to start a whole new routine after Easter.. and the clocks going back helps so much!

Anyway I went to my cousin Jon's 21st. That was.. the opposite of interesting.
At least I got some trifle! It's not like normal trifle it's like black forest trifle. My nana made it.

My poppa read a rhyme about trying all sorts of international foods and how you just actually want potatoes and sausages.

Anyway, it IS all about me sometimes too.
I had to work today and I should have been there about 10 mins early because I had the key and gate remote. But I did pilates and that made me leave about 10mins later than I should have.. Then I had to go over train tracks that I only have to cross because the road is closed. I actually live on the same side of the tracks as my job. Anyway when I got to the tracks there was a REALLY long train going REALLY slow and it was there for a few minutes.


Then after the train had finally gone, the bar never came up. So people waited ages before deciding to cross over with the barriers down! At least they eventually did!


Then of course I had to drive about 1km only to have to cross again.. It looked like the barriers had been down for quite some time, as there was a huge line of cars waiting. The barriers came up on their own about 30 seconds after I arrived.


But by now I was 15 mins later than my actual start time and 25 mins late for trying to be early.

'Cause I do not accept any less

Now, since I have been thinking about photography nonstop for 10 days.. I applied for a job taking photos of real estate for agents. I wondered if I would actually be good at that. I was also in my room watching tv when I saw through my closed blinds, a tangerine orange sunset peeking into my room .. I immediately opened the blinds and started taking photos!

Then I couldn't help myself! I ran downstairs and started taking photos of the sunset and my house and houses around mine (which are all unoccupied). I think I will like to look back on what Addison was like now when it's still new and empty. And it was a good opportunity to practise. So anyway I ended up taking 114 photos and these are my favourite.
